Don’t let your New Mexico Concealed Carry License become invalid – complete the required 2-year refresher or 4-year renewal course.
2-year refresher courses are 2 hours and must be completed 22 to 24 months after your NM CCL was issued. Students are required to submit their certificate of completion of a 2-year refresher course to the NM DPS within the above time frame.
4-year renewal courses are 4 hours and must be completed (and renewal application submitted) no more than 60 days after your NM CCL expires. Once your license has expired it is no longer valid and you may not carry a concealed handgun until you receive your renewed license from the Department of Public Safety. If your license has been expired for more than 60 days you must go through the process of obtaining a NM CCL as if it were your first time (the NM DPS will require you to complete the initial 15-hour course again).
If we do not have a refresher/renewal course scheduled that fits within your schedule, please reach out to us – we may be able to help you get the required refresher/renewal course completed.
